Waste Truck Driver – Full‑time

About the role

We are looking for a reliable Waste Truck Driver to join our waste management team in Nairobi. You will be responsible for safely operating a waste collection truck, transporting waste to approved disposal sites, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations. This is a full‑time, onsite position that requires a strong focus on safety and punctuality.

Key responsibilities

• Operate waste collection trucks safely, following company procedures and road‑safety rules.
• Collect and transport waste from assigned locations to approved disposal or treatment facilities.
• Follow designated routes and collection schedules, ensuring timely completion.
• Conduct daily pre‑trip and post‑trip vehicle inspections and report any faults.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and report maintenance needs.
• Observe all traffic, environmental, health and workplace safety regulations.
• Coordinate with the waste collection crew during loading and unloading.
• Maintain accurate records of trips, fuel usage, and any incidents.
• Communicate professionally with customers and escalate complaints as needed.

Required profile

• Entry‑level candidates with up to 2 years of relevant driving experience.
• Valid driver’s licence appropriate for heavy vehicles.
• Ability to follow schedules, routes and safety protocols.
• Good physical fitness for loading and unloading waste.
