Waste Water Treatment Supervisor

About the role

The Waste Water Treatment Supervisor will lead the daily operations of a municipal wastewater plant in Rongai, ensuring safe, efficient and compliant treatment of influent water. You will manage a team of operators and technicians while maintaining high performance of biological, chemical and mechanical processes.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee end‑to‑end treatment processes including screening, aeration, sedimentation, filtration and sludge handling.
• Monitor influent and effluent parameters (BOD, COD, pH, TSS, flow rates) and adjust operations to meet regulatory standards.
• Analyze operational data to optimise chemical dosing, aeration levels and sludge recycling, reducing energy and chemical consumption.
• Prepare and submit compliance reports, support audits and ensure proper disposal of by‑products.
• Supervise plant staff, manage shift schedules, provide training on SOPs and enforce safety standards.
• Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance of pumps, blowers, valves and related equipment.
• Conduct safety briefings, risk assessments and investigate any incidents.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in wastewater treatment plant operations.
• Entry‑level qualification in environmental engineering, water technology or related field.
• Proven ability to lead a team and manage shift work.
• Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail.
