Wood Production Manager

About the role

The Wood Production Manager will lead the end‑to‑end manufacturing process for a leading interior fit‑out and furniture company in Nairobi. Reporting to senior management, you will ensure that production runs smoothly, on time, and within budget while maintaining the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement production plans based on customer orders.
• Monitor execution of plans, adjusting schedules to meet delivery targets.
• Coordinate work‑in‑progress across departments using workflow charts and tracking systems.
• Oversee raw‑material utilization from estimation through production to minimise waste.
• Plan production of standard and custom products to maintain optimal stock levels.
• Participate in new product design and development.
• Ensure shift reports and handovers are prepared by supervisors.
• Review departmental reports and track performance against targets.
• Liaise with stores to confirm material availability and trigger re‑orders.
• Lead continuous‑improvement initiatives to boost quality, productivity, efficiency and OEE.
• Enforce safety policies, operational standards and company procedures on the shop floor.
• Communicate production objectives and expectations clearly to all staff.
• Prepare and submit regular production and performance reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Wood Science, Industrial Processes or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience managing wood‑production or similar manufacturing operations.
• Proven ability to lead teams and manage multiple production lines.
• Strong understanding of inventory control, material planning and quality assurance.
