Accounting Intern

About the role

We are seeking a highly motivated Accounting Intern to join our finance team in Athi River, Kenya. The 6‑month internship offers hands‑on experience in full‑cycle accounting, focusing on accounts receivable, accounts payable and bank reconciliations using modern ERP software.

Key responsibilities

• Generate and issue accurate invoices and statements to clients; maintain AR aging schedules.
• Process customer payments, update AR reports and follow up on overdue invoices.
• Assist with supplier invoice processing, prepare vendor payment batches and verify against purchase orders.
• Perform bank and mobile‑money reconciliations, investigate variances and prepare notes for the finance team.
• Support month‑end closing by posting routine journal entries and organizing financial documents.
• Enter and code daily transactions in the company ERP and maintain a clear filing system.
• Gather supporting documentation for internal and external audits.

Required profile

• Currently pursuing or recently graduated with a Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration.
• At least CPA Part 2 or ACCA (ongoing/completed) is highly desired.
• Strong analytical ability, high attention to detail and integrity handling confidential information.

Required skills

• Practical knowledge of QuickBooks ERP.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables).
• Experience with modern accounting/ERP systems.
