After‑Sales Technician

About the role

We are seeking an experienced After‑Sales Technician to join our Nairobi team. The position focuses on supporting renewable‑energy installations, delivering technical after‑sales service, and helping clients select and optimise solar solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct site assessments and technical evaluations to recommend suitable renewable‑energy solutions for prospective clients.
• Support installation, commissioning, and after‑sales service for inverters and other renewable‑energy equipment.
• Provide technical after‑sales support, including troubleshooting and system optimisation guidance.
• Prepare technical proposals, system designs, and cost estimates in collaboration with the engineering team.
• Deliver product demonstrations and technical presentations to clients, distributors, and partners, supporting the sales process.
• Build and grow a pipeline of qualified leads through networking, referrals, and market research.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related technical field.
• Minimum five years of hands‑on after‑sales experience in the renewable‑energy sector (solar/inverter systems); candidates without this specific experience will not be considered.
• Hands‑on experience with solar inverters (installation, configuration, and troubleshooting).
• Proven track record handling client service calls, warranty claims, and technical fault resolution in the field.
• Ability to read and interpret technical specifications, system designs, and energy consumption data.
• Strong client‑facing and sales‑support skills, able to explain technical concepts clearly to non‑technical audiences and support deal closure.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with CAD or other system‑design software is an advantage.
• Good command of spoken and written English.
• Self‑motivated, analytical, and comfortable working across both technical and commercial teams.
• Willingness to travel for site visits and client meetings.
