Assistant Wellsite Drilling Fluids Engineer

About the role

Join Baker Hughes' regional Drilling Services Team as an Assistant Wellsite Drilling Fluids Engineer. You will work on‑site to ensure drilling fluids meet performance, safety, and environmental standards while supporting the broader field engineering group.

Key responsibilities

• Measure, test, and supervise fluid mixing and pumping operations on rig sites.
• Analyze fluid properties and provide technical recommendations to control viscosity, density, and other key parameters.
• Collaborate with drilling crews, sales representatives, and entry‑level engineers to deliver optimal fluid solutions.
• Manage fluid‑related costs and ensure compliance with Baker Hughes HSE, legal, and compliance policies.
• May conduct sales calls or accompany sales staff to promote fluid products and services.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics.
• Minimum 5 years of experience with drilling fluids products and services.
• Proven ability to select appropriate products for simple to complex applications.
• Strong communication, presentation, and analytical skills.
• Willingness to travel to rig sites, customer facilities, and training events.
