Associate – Client Administration

About the role

The Associate – Client Administration will support a portfolio of clients by delivering accurate accounting, tax compliance and payroll services. You will act as the primary point of contact, ensuring deadlines are met and client records are well‑maintained.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain client general ledger, reconciliations and month‑end close.
• Produce management accounts and financial reports in line with IFRS.
• File statutory tax returns (VAT, corporate tax, withholding tax) via KRA iTax and monitor compliance calendars.
• Process monthly payrolls, compute PAYE, NSSF, SHIF/NHIF and related statutory deductions.
• Assist with year‑end financial statements and external audit support.
• Serve as day‑to‑day contact for clients, handling queries, onboarding and billing.

Required profile

• CPA (K) or CPS (K) qualification; full qualification is a plus.
• 1–3 years of experience in accounting, tax compliance or payroll, preferably in a professional services setting.
• Working knowledge of Kenyan tax laws and statutory requirements (KRA iTax, NSSF, SHIF, Housing Levy).
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple client deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting and payroll software such as QuickBooks, Sage or Xero.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience using the KRA iTax platform.
