Associate Programme Management Officer (Multiple Positions)

About the role

The United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) is seeking multiple Associate Programme Management Officers for a Fixed‑Term Limited contract in Nairobi. The role supports the Budget, Finance and Operational Support Section (BFOSS) within the Corporate Management Division, focusing on programme management, financial oversight, and implementation monitoring.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of assigned programmes and projects.
• Review documentation and reports, identify implementation challenges and recommend corrective actions.
• Liaise with project managers, implementing partners, and local authorities to ensure compliance with UN rules and donor agreements.
• Support strategic management of financial resources through planning, budget monitoring, resource tracking and application of financial controls.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of monitoring systems and tools for timely delivery of outputs.
• Assist in overseeing logistical, operational and administrative arrangements related to programme activities.

Required profile

• Works under the overall supervision of the Director, Corporate Management Division and direct supervision of the Chief of BFOSS.
• Collaborates with headquarters and field project managers, implementing partners and local authorities.
