Audit Associate

About the role

We are seeking an Audit Associate to support our audit, assurance and internal control functions across multiple business units. Based in Nyeri, you will work closely with Finance, Risk and external stakeholders to ensure regulatory compliance and drive financial integrity.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute audit engagements, including risk assessment, fieldwork and reporting.
• Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls, policies and procedures.
• Prepare audit working papers, findings and reports in line with professional standards.
• Support external audit processes and liaise with regulatory bodies.
• Review financial statements for accuracy, completeness and IFRS compliance.
• Identify control gaps, financial risks and recommend corrective actions.
• Monitor implementation of audit recommendations and management action plans.
• Provide insights to improve financial reporting, risk management and operational processes.
• Collaborate with Finance, Legal, Operations and external advisors on audit‑related matters.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field.
• Professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, CIA or equivalent (highly preferred).
• 3–5 years of audit experience, preferably within a professional services environment.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of audit standards and internal control frameworks.
• Proficiency with IFRS and financial reporting requirements.
• Ability to prepare audit working papers and comprehensive reports.
