Backend Developer – JSON Schema (Remote)

About the role

We are seeking a Backend Developer specialized in JSON Schema to join a global technology leader on a contract basis. The role is fully remote, offering flexible hours while you design, implement, and maintain JSON‑based data models and APIs.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain JSON Schema definitions for API contracts and data models.
• Validate JSON Schema compliance for inbound and outbound data across microservices.
• Collaborate with frontend and backend teams to integrate schema changes without disrupting existing workflows.
• Troubleshoot and resolve schema‑related issues in production environments.
• Optimize schema performance and ensure alignment with evolving business requirements.

Required profile

• Proven experience with JSON Schema specification and validation tools (e.g., Ajv, JSON Schema Validator).
• Strong background in RESTful API design and implementation.
• Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and backend frameworks such as Node.js or Express.
• Familiarity with data modeling and database schemas (SQL or NoSQL).
• Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing.
