Barber for US Navy Program

About the role

Amentum is seeking a professional Barber to provide grooming services for personnel stationed on Diego Garcia as part of a unique US Navy program. The role supports morale and welfare by delivering high‑quality haircuts, shaves, and related services in an austere overseas environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform haircuts, trims, tapers, and styling using clippers, scissors, and razors.
• Provide shaving, beard and mustache trimming, and scalp treatments.
• Assess hair and scalp condition and recommend appropriate grooming techniques.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary workspace that meets industry and Navy standards.
• Manage and maintain grooming equipment and tools.
• Support morale‑building initiatives and customer service for all personnel.

Required profile

• Minimum six months of barbering experience, including military‑style haircuts.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Fluent in English (read, write, speak).
• Valid passport with at least one year beyond hire date.
• Ability to meet contract medical requirements and obtain facility credentials.

Required skills

• Proficiency with clippers, scissors, and razors.
• Haircutting and styling techniques for diverse hair types, including coarse and curly hair.
• Shaving and beard‑trimming expertise.
