Business Development Manager – Google Cloud (Rest of Africa)

About the role

The Business Development Manager – Rest of Africa (RoA) for Google Cloud will drive strategic growth by identifying new market opportunities, building lasting partnerships, and expanding the adoption of Google Cloud products and services across the region. You will collaborate with technical and sales teams to craft tailored proposals and manage a robust pipeline of opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Research and analyse market trends, customer needs and competitor activities to shape business strategy.
• Proactively seek new business opportunities and potential clients for Google Cloud solutions.
• Build and nurture relationships with key stakeholders, partners and industry influencers.
• Present Google Cloud products and services to prospects, highlighting business value and technical advantages.
• Work with technical teams to develop customised proposals and solutions.
• Support sales teams with insights, training and resources to enable successful engagements.
• Maintain and report on a robust pipeline of business opportunities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in business, IT or a related field (advanced degree or cloud‑technology certification preferred).
• Minimum 3 years of business development or sales experience in cloud solutions.
• At least 3 years of experience working with Google Cloud or comparable platforms.

Required skills

• Deep understanding of cloud computing and Google Cloud offerings.
• Strong business acumen and market analysis capabilities.
• Knowledge of partner ecosystems and channel‑sales models.
• Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
• Strategic thinking, problem‑solving and relationship‑management abilities.
• Google Cloud certifications (Foundational or Associate).
