Business Development Officer

About the role

Emerge Egress Consulting, a Nairobi‑based HR management and training consultancy, is looking for a Business Development Officer. The role focuses on acquiring new clients, nurturing existing relationships, and driving market expansion for the firm’s recruitment, business strategy and training services.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients.
• Identify new business opportunities, generate qualified leads and conduct client needs assessments.
• Propose tailored solutions and support business growth through networking, referrals and strategic partnerships.
• Implement client engagement and retention initiatives.
• Monitor market trends, customer preferences and competitor activities.
• Track business development performance and prepare regular reports.
• Collaborate with senior management to execute growth strategies and achieve revenue targets.
• Represent the firm at industry events, networking forums and stakeholder meetings.

Required profile

• Diploma or Certificate in Business Management, Marketing, Communication or a related field from a recognized university.
• At least two (2) years of relevant experience in consultative selling, client acquisition or account management.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building abilities.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills and adaptability.
• Effective problem‑solving and analytical capabilities.
