Business Research Analyst

About the role

The Business Research Analyst works closely with the Sales Coordinator and Real Estate Advisors to deliver macro‑level market intelligence across East Africa and beyond. The role builds a pipeline of high‑growth prospects by analysing industries, companies, investors and expansion opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct continuous market research on target industries, economic trends, investment flows, logistics, retail, data centres, FMCG, pharmaceuticals, SEZs and infrastructure projects.
• Develop comprehensive company profiles covering revenue, ownership, geographic footprint, facilities, expansion plans and financial strength.
• Generate qualified leads by building and maintaining target company and decision‑maker databases.
• Prepare monthly industry reports, market opportunity briefs, sector analyses, competitor assessments and country investment briefs.
• Support sales teams with prospect briefs, benchmark data, financial modelling, SEZ intelligence and proposal preparation.
• Maintain a market intelligence database of leading industry players and stakeholders.
• Represent the company at investment forums, trade missions and industry conferences.
• Produce regular deliverables such as industry intelligence reports, market updates, transaction trackers and opportunity maps.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Engineering, Urban Planning or a related field.
• 4‑7 years of experience in market research, business intelligence, strategy consulting, corporate finance or commercial real estate research.
• Strong financial modelling experience using Excel or specialised software.
• Proven experience in B2B market analysis and investment research.
• Knowledge of industrial and commercial property markets across Africa is highly desirable.
• Exceptional work ethic, analytical mindset and strong written and verbal communication skills.
