About the role
The Card Engineer will design, develop, implement and support enterprise card payment solutions for a leading financial institution in Nairobi. Working closely with enterprise architects, technology teams and external vendors, the role ensures secure, scalable and compliant card payment platforms across issuing, acquiring and processing.
Key responsibilities
- Design and develop card payment solutions that meet business, operational and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with Enterprise Architects to define solution architectures aligned with technology standards.
- Lead technical implementation of card solutions using agile delivery methodologies.
- Provide end‑to‑end technical support throughout development, testing, deployment and production.
- Coordinate host and scheme certifications (Visa, Mastercard, UPI, JCB) and manage compliance activities.
- Identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities for existing card platforms.
Required profile
- Proven experience in card payment systems and related certification processes.
- Strong understanding of payment scheme requirements and regulatory standards.
- Ability to translate business requirements into technical designs.
- Experience working in a collaborative, cross‑functional environment.
