Clinical Coordinator – Front Desk

About the role

The Clinical Coordinator (Front Desk) is the first point of contact for patients at Penda Health’s Medical Centre in Westlands, Nairobi. You will ensure a warm, efficient and professional experience by managing patient registration, billing, appointments and coordinating with clinical teams.

Key responsibilities

• Greet patients, answer inquiries, handle complaints and phone calls, escalating when needed.
• Register patients, obtain consent, verify medical benefits and process billing (cash, insurance, corporate partners).
• Manage appointment scheduling, wait‑time communication and patient flow in collaboration with clinical staff.
• Maintain accurate patient records, insurance submissions and support front‑desk projects.
• Handle petty cash, prepare relevant reports and ensure a tidy, organized front‑desk environment.
• Uphold Penda Health’s culture and service standards, working closely with other coordinators and centre teams.

Required profile

• Diploma in Front Office Administration, Customer Service Management, Business Administration, Health Records or related field.
• Minimum 1 year experience in a customer‑facing, front‑desk or reception role.
• Strong customer service orientation, attention to detail and ability to work in a fast‑paced healthcare setting.
