Clinical Officer – Paediatrics

About the role

The Clinical Officer – Paediatrics will deliver high‑quality, patient‑centered pediatric care at Mary Immaculate Clinic, serving neonates, infants, children and adolescents from the Mukuru community. The role involves assessment, diagnosis, treatment, monitoring and health education while adhering to Ministry of Health and Clinical Officers Council standards.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive pediatric assessments, including history taking and physical examinations.
• Diagnose and treat common and acute pediatric conditions, and refer complex cases as needed.
• Provide preventive and promotive child health services, including nutrition counseling for malnourished children.
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with clinical guidelines and centre policies.
• Participate in community outreach and health education activities.

Required profile

• Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery.
• Higher Diploma in Child Health and Paediatrics (or equivalent).
• Registered with the Clinical Officers Council of Kenya with a valid practising licence.
• Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Minimum three years of pediatric clinical experience, preferably in underserved settings.
