Commis Chef (Pastry) – Full‑time Position

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Commis Chef (Pastry) to join our kitchen team. The successful candidate will support the Pastry Chef in producing a wide range of baked goods while maintaining high standards of quality and hygiene.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing and baking pastries, breads, cakes, cookies and desserts according to standardized recipes.
• Measure and portion ingredients accurately and monitor baking times and temperatures.
• Help with decorating and finishing pastries for service or special orders.
• Maintain cleanliness of workstations, equipment and storage areas, and follow food‑safety procedures.
• Track inventory of baking ingredients, record production data and report shortages or equipment issues.
• Support the Pastry Chef and kitchen team during events, buffet service and high‑volume periods.

Required profile

• Diploma or Certificate in Culinary Arts, Pastry & Bakery or a related field.
• Basic knowledge of pastry preparation, baking techniques and dessert production.
• Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
• Good organisational and time‑management abilities, able to work under pressure.
• Attention to detail and a genuine passion for baking.
