Communications & Media Manager – Youth Media Corps

About the role

CFK Africa is seeking a Communications & Media Manager to lead its external communications, brand, video, social media and public relations efforts. The role also heads the Youth Media Corps, a movement that empowers young journalists and content creators from slum communities to produce authentic, high‑quality media.

Key responsibilities

• Own and execute CFK Africa’s external communications strategy and brand positioning.
• Lead media relations, public relations and digital/social media channels.
• Oversee the Youth Media Corps, coordinating young journalists, content creators and digital storytellers.
• Manage production of video profiles, podcasts, short films, advocacy media and visual storytelling that advance youth empowerment and civic engagement.
• Drive resource‑mobilisation communications and ensure demonstrable reach and impact.
• Provide team leadership, financial stewardship and safeguarding for all communications activities.
• Collaborate closely with the Executive Communications & Partnerships Manager to ensure consistent storytelling internally and externally.

Required profile

• Passion for youth empowerment and community‑driven storytelling.
• Experience leading external communications, brand, media relations and social media for an NGO or similar organization.
• Proven ability to manage multi‑media production projects (video, podcasts, short films).
• Strong collaborative skills to work with senior leadership and cross‑functional teams.
