About the role
The Compliance Pharmacist will ensure that MEDFO Kenya Limited meets all regulatory requirements set by the Pharmacy and Poisons Board (PPB) and related legislation. You will act as the primary liaison for inspections, licensing, product registration and internal governance.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain valid PPB licences for the company, premises and pharmacists, and track renewal dates.
- Prepare and submit product dossiers, manage variations and renewals, and obtain import/export permits.
- Lead communication during PPB inspections and close audit findings within agreed timelines.
- Monitor changes to the Pharmacy and Poisons Act, Cap 244 and PPB guidelines, updating internal policies accordingly.
- Oversee Good Distribution Practice (GDP) and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) compliance, including storage, stock rotation, batch records and COAs.
- Develop and maintain SOPs, quality manuals and ensure staff training for audit readiness.
- Draft and update compliance policies, conduct internal audits and provide regular risk dashboards to the Managing Director.
- Review promotional materials for ethical marketing and manage deviation investigations with corrective actions.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy (B.Pharm) with a valid practicing licence.
- At least 24 months of experience in regulatory affairs, licensing or quality assurance within the pharmaceutical sector.
- Knowledge of PPB regulations and experience with product registration is an advantage.
