Construction Manager

About the role

The Construction Manager provides overall administrative and technical direction for a large, complex construction project and may also oversee several smaller projects through subordinate managers. This senior role ensures that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the total construction effort to ensure compliance with design, budget, and schedule.
• Interface with client representatives, architects/engineers, union officials, subcontractors, and security personnel.
• Plan, coordinate, and supervise all company personnel assigned to the project(s).
• Authorize and approve personnel transactions, purchase requisitions, and change requests.
• Assist in union jurisdictional disputes and negotiations as required.
• Ensure adherence to company, client, and project policies, procedures, and standards.
• Maintain official project logs and documentation files.
• Support implementation and interpretation of safety programs.
• Provide direction to planning, scheduling, and engineering functions.
• Perform additional assignments as directed by the supervisor.
• Maintain an insurable driving record.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• 10‑15 years of industry experience.
• Thorough knowledge of construction technology, equipment, methods, and finance.
• Familiarity with company policies, union jurisdiction, labor agreements, and negotiations.
• Superior communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organizational, supervisory, and planning abilities.
• Proven ability to meet deadlines and assume responsibility.
• Willingness and ability to travel.

Required skills

• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word.
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Outlook.
