Cook – Corporate Cafeteria

About the role

The Cook will work in TMC Transportation’s corporate cafeteria in Des Moines, IA, preparing meals for employees and ensuring a safe, welcoming dining environment. This full‑time, onsite position supports the daily food service operation and delivers high‑quality food to staff.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items in accordance with established recipes and portion standards.
• Maintain a clean and organized work station, including line set‑up, food prep, cooking, and clean‑up.
• Follow all city, county, state and federal food safety regulations and company policies.
• Handle cash transactions accurately and provide friendly customer service.
• Supervise food service workers when the Food Service Supervisor is absent.

Required profile

• Prior experience in a food service or cafeteria environment.
• Ability to lift at least 20 lb and stand for extended periods.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and the capacity to multitask in a fast‑paced setting.
• Clear oral and written communication skills.
