Country Director – Kenya

About the role

The Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) is seeking a senior leader to serve as Country Director for Kenya. This executive will guide CHAI’s strategic vision, strengthen partnerships with the Kenyan government and private sector, and ensure the delivery of high‑impact health programs across the country.

Key responsibilities

• Provide overall strategic leadership for CHAI’s portfolio in Kenya, aligning activities with the organization’s global mission.
• Oversee program design, implementation, and evaluation for infectious diseases, non‑communicable diseases, health system strengthening, digital health, and health financing.
• Build and maintain high‑level relationships with government officials, donors, NGOs, and private‑sector partners.
• Lead a multidisciplinary team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and results‑orientation.
• Secure resources, manage budgets, and ensure financial sustainability of country programs.
• Represent CHAI in public forums, media engagements, and policy discussions.

Required profile

• Extensive senior‑level experience leading health programs in low‑ and middle‑income countries, preferably in sub‑Saharan Africa.
• Demonstrated success in partnership development with ministries of health and other key stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of health systems, disease control strategies, and emerging health challenges.
• Proven ability to manage large, multi‑disciplinary teams and complex budgets.
• Excellent communication and advocacy skills, with fluency in English.
