Customer Service Representative

About the role

We are seeking a Customer Service Representative to manage ongoing relationships with customers in the Des Moines area. The role involves accepting freight, resolving issues, and ensuring customer requirements are met while supporting our logistics operations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with assigned customers.
• Review incoming truck lists, take load information, and book freight on available trucks.
• Maintain and log pre‑booked freight that cannot be immediately assigned.
• Contact new and existing customers to solicit additional freight and load trucks within the designated territory.
• Research and resolve customer inquiries and problems.
• Communicate effectively with customers, sales, fleet managers, and internal teams.
• Participate in quality‑management and process‑improvement initiatives.
• Enter customer data and shipping instructions into the computer database using web‑based tools.

Required profile

• Four‑year degree, preferably in Transportation and Logistics, or relevant experience.
• Strong attention to detail, problem‑solving ability, and capacity to work in a fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Ability to sit for extended periods while using a telephone and computer.

Required skills

• Keyboard proficiency.
• 10‑key data entry.
