Data Platform Engineer – Remote

About the role

Paymentology is building a modern, global data platform to support its real‑time payments ecosystem. As a Data Platform Engineer you will design, implement and operate the core infrastructure that powers data pipelines, storage and processing across multiple clouds.

Key responsibilities

• Design and provision cloud‑based data platform infrastructure using Terraform, focusing on scalability, security, reliability and cost efficiency.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines that automate data engineering workflows, pipeline deployments and infrastructure provisioning.
• Implement observability solutions, integrating monitoring, logging and metrics to ensure platform reliability and rapid incident response.
• Collaborate with data engineers, analysts and senior stakeholders to create robust data pipelines, models and platform capabilities.
• Apply best practices for high availability, disaster recovery, security and cost optimisation, and document architecture decisions and operational procedures.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of hands‑on experience in Data Engineering, Platform Engineering or DataOps.
• Proven ability to own end‑to‑end delivery of scalable data platforms.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset in a global fintech environment.

Required skills

• Terraform (Infrastructure as Code)
• AWS or GCP cloud services (e.g., S3, Redshift, BigQuery, Snowflake)
• Data engineering tools: dbt, Apache Airflow, Apache Kafka
• Kubernetes and containerised workloads
• CI/CD pipeline construction and automation
