Design Operations Lead

About the role

We are looking for a Design Operations Lead to head a remote team of four designers who create production‑ready packaging artwork. You will be responsible for driving quality, speed, and scalability by improving processes, leveraging automation and AI, and stepping in hands‑on when needed.

Key responsibilities

• Identify bottlenecks and build smarter workflows, systems, automations and AI‑supported processes.
• Create structure, clarity and accountability across the remote design team through planning, feedback and performance follow‑up.
• Maintain a high quality bar by reviewing complex customer artwork and catching issues before they reach production.
• Represent the Design function across the business and improve collaboration with customer and production teams.
• Stay hands‑on by reviewing and correcting artwork in Illustrator and supporting the team during busy periods.

• Operational leader who enjoys organising teams, prioritising workloads and meeting deadlines.
• Sharp eye for detail and a strong commitment to quality.
• Comfortable creating structure in a fast‑moving environment where speed and accuracy matter.
• Experience managing remote design teams and driving continuous improvement.
