Digital Organizing & Project Coordinator for African Tech Workers

About the role

The Digital Organizing and Project Coordinator will lead online outreach and campaign activities for African tech workers across the digital economy. Based remotely in Africa, with a strong preference for candidates in Kenya, the role supports UNI Global Union’s mission to build union power for data, content, and BPO workers.

Key responsibilities

• Design and launch digital outreach campaigns targeting tech and data workers.
• Create and execute multi‑stakeholder campaign strategies in a fast‑paced environment.
• Use digital communications as a core organizing and recruitment tool.
• Manage social‑media channels and the campaign’s online presence.
• Assist affiliates in adopting new digital organizing approaches.
• Develop engaging worker‑facing content, including web and graphic design assets.
• Collect, curate, and transform worker stories into clear campaign narratives.
• Design campaign materials such as interactive maps, infographics, and data visualisations.
• Build and maintain databases of worker contacts and story assets.

Required profile

• Mid‑level experience (approximately 5 years) in digital campaigning or organizing.
• Proven ability to work remotely and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
• Strong communication skills for collecting consented worker stories.
• Experience testing messages, campaign asks, and organizing approaches.
• Comfort with managing databases and contact lists across multiple channels.
