Director / Associate Director, Research-Informed Delivery

About the role

PxD is looking for a Director or Associate Director to act as the technical bridge between its Research Professional Group and country or regional program teams. The role ensures that rigorous econometric methods and evidence standards are embedded in the design, scaling and delivery of agricultural information interventions.

Key responsibilities

• Translate research priorities and evidence into practical program implementation across multiple countries.
• Work with the Chief Economist and Director of Research to operationalise PxD’s research strategy within program teams.
• Support program managers and country directors in applying rigorous methodologies, including randomized evaluation designs, when scaling interventions.
• Identify gaps where additional evidence is needed before scale‑up decisions.
• Lead, mentor and develop a growing technical team focused on research‑informed delivery.
• Undertake periodic travel for organizational meetings, field visits and stakeholder events.

Required profile

• Strong background in econometrics and randomized evaluation design applied to real‑world program delivery.
• Proven experience in bridging technical research with operational program teams.
• Significant people‑management experience to lead and develop a technical team.
• Willingness to travel regularly, including to field sites.
