Dispatch Supervisor

About the role

The Dispatch Supervisor will lead daily transportation and dispatch operations, ensuring that vehicle capacity is optimally allocated and transportation plans are executed on time. This role supports carrier management, freight‑rate monitoring, bidding activities and commercial negotiations while aligning resources with company requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate with approved carriers to secure adequate transportation capacity and maintain regular communication on vehicle availability and dispatch schedules.
• Monitor carrier performance, address delays or service issues, and develop strong relationships with transport service providers.
• Allocate vehicle resources according to the approved transportation plan, track daily and weekly vehicle requirements, and adjust capacity as needed.
• Track quota and capacity utilization, prepare regular reports, and escalate significant gaps to the Transport/Logistics Manager.
• Collect and analyze market transportation rates, monitor competitor freight rates, and provide recommendations on pricing and cost efficiency.
• Support bidding and tender processes, prepare carrier bid documents, compare rates, and assist in negotiations with carriers.
