Driver for Operations in Kakuma

About the role

The GIZ Kenya office is looking for a reliable driver to support its operations in Kakuma. You will be responsible for transporting staff, partners, guests and documents while ensuring vehicle safety, cleanliness and compliance with GIZ security standards.

Key responsibilities

• Drive staff, partners, guests and consultants in assigned vehicles.
• Deliver correspondence and documents to programme partners and other organisations.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and keep logbooks up to date.
• Prepare mileage reports for private and programme vehicle usage.
• Manage routine maintenance and minor repairs of assigned vehicles.
• Support set‑up, transfer, assembly and dismantling of materials and equipment for workshops and meetings.
• Provide daily updates on road conditions, routes and security information to other drivers and GIZ staff.

Required profile

• Valid Kenyan driver’s licence with clean driving record.
• At least one month of driving experience, preferably in a similar environment.
• Ability to follow GIZ security standards and work in a refugee‑camp setting.
• Good physical fitness for handling vehicle maintenance tasks.
