Electrical Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Electrical Engineer to lead the design, sizing, installation and commissioning of solar photovoltaic, water‑pumping and backup power systems for our clients in the shipping and logistics sector.

Key responsibilities

• Design, review and modify detailed electrical schematics, wiring layouts, line drawings and solar PV systems using AutoCAD and manual drafting tools.
• Perform electrical load calculations, solar sizing and component selection for off‑grid, hybrid and grid‑tied applications, including battery backup storage.
• Evaluate, size and design complete water‑pumping solutions (solar‑powered, grid‑connected or generator‑driven) and integrate them with control panel logic.
• Assess client needs and design efficient domestic and commercial solar water‑heating systems, overseeing installation and performance testing.
• Design and integrate emergency backup power systems with generators, battery banks and Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS).
• Conduct on‑site technical assessments and feasibility studies to inform custom engineering designs.
• Prepare technical documentation, material specifications, cost estimates and detailed Bills of Quantities (BOQs) for proposals and tenders.
• Supervise on‑site mechanical, electrical and solar installations, managing field technicians and subcontractors.
• Carry out testing, load checks, pressure tests and final commissioning of electrical networks, solar arrays, inverters, batteries, water heaters, generators and pumps.
• Diagnose complex faults, isolate failures and execute hands‑on repairs of control panels, wiring, PV modules, plumbing and related equipment.

Required profile

• Mid‑level professional with at least 24 months of experience in electrical and solar system design.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct site assessments, feasibility studies and produce technical documentation.
