Engineering Workshop Supervisor – Mai Mahiu

About the role

The Engineering Workshop Supervisor will lead daily operations of a busy mechanical workshop in Mai Mahiu. You will ensure efficient workflow, high‑quality output, and a safe working environment while mentoring a team of technicians and fabricators.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate all workshop activities, including fabrication, machining, maintenance, and repairs.
• Lead, mentor and evaluate technicians, fabricators and mechanical personnel to meet productivity and quality targets.
• Plan, assign and monitor work orders, ensuring adherence to specifications and deadlines.
• Operate and oversee safe use of workshop machinery such as lathe machines and other engineering equipment.
• Ensure all work complies with engineering standards and customer requirements.
• Monitor equipment performance and coordinate preventive maintenance to minimise downtime.
• Enforce health and safety regulations and maintain a safe workplace.
• Manage workshop resources, tools, materials and equipment efficiently.
• Inspect completed work and prepare regular workshop performance reports.

Required profile

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 10 years of hands‑on experience in a busy engineering or mechanical workshop.
• Proven expertise in fabrication, machining and mechanical repairs.
• Strong leadership, supervisory and team‑management abilities.
• Excellent problem‑solving, planning and organisational skills.
• Self‑driven, flexible and capable of working with minimal supervision.
• Willingness to be based in Mai Mahiu.
