Entry Level Driver (Fixed-Term)

About the role

The Communications Authority of Kenya is hiring seven entry‑level drivers on a two‑year fixed‑term contract (renewable once). The role involves safe, timely transportation of authorized passengers and maintaining the Authority’s vehicles under the supervision of the Fleet Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Drive Authority vehicles in compliance with traffic laws and road safety regulations.
• Conduct daily vehicle checks to ensure roadworthiness before and after each journey.
• Detect, report, and follow up on mechanical defects, accidents, incidents and maintenance needs.
• Maintain accurate vehicle records and ensure proper custody of vehicles, passengers, goods, tools, fuel cards and accessories.
• Monitor service schedules, coordinate servicing, repairs, insurance inspections and statutory compliance.
• Maintain high standards of vehicle cleanliness and presentation.
• Report accidents, incidents, traffic offences and breakdowns promptly to the Fleet office.

Required profile

• Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (minimum grade D) or equivalent.
• At least two (2) years of driving experience.
• Valid Category D2 driving licence with a clean record for the past two years.
• Passed the Suitability Test for Drivers Grade III or equivalent.
• First‑Aid Certificate (minimum one‑week course) from a recognized institution.
• Proficiency in computer applications.
• Experience in long‑distance driving on diverse terrains.
• Defensive driving certificate (advantageous).
