Entry Operator – Pickling Line (Mariakani)

About the role

The Entry Operator will work on the pickling line’s entry section, ensuring smooth material flow and meeting production targets. You will be responsible for operating equipment, maintaining quality standards, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives in a steel processing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and monitor entry‑section equipment, verify material specifications and schedules.
• Prepare strips, thread and feed them into the pickling process while maintaining accurate production and traceability records.
• Support planned and breakdown maintenance, perform autonomous maintenance tasks, and identify productivity improvements.
• Ensure coils meet quality standards, conduct inspections, and participate in RCA, CAPA and Kaizen projects.
• Comply with HSEQ, SOPs, Permit‑to‑Work and LOTOTO requirements; report hazards and maintain 6S housekeeping.

Required profile

• KCSE Certificate or equivalent technical qualification (e.g., Government Grade Test II in General Fitting, Mechanical Engineering Craft Certificate).
• At least 1 year of experience on a pickling line or in steel/heavy‑manufacturing operations.
• Knowledge of strip welding, coil handling and basic production planning.
• Training in 6S, TPM and autonomous maintenance is an advantage.
