About the role

The Executive Director leads Aspen Initiative Nairobi, shaping its strategic direction and ensuring sustainable impact across Africa. Reporting to the Board, you will guide program development, partnership building, and resource mobilization while fostering a high‑performing team.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute organizational strategy in collaboration with the Board.
• Represent the Initiative to senior government, philanthropic, and private‑sector stakeholders.
• Lead fundraising efforts and cultivate multi‑year donor relationships.
• Oversee design, delivery, and evaluation of high‑quality programs.
• Manage financial, governance, and operational functions.
• Strengthen ties within the Aspen global network and regional ecosystem.

Required profile

• Deep commitment to values‑based, service‑oriented leadership.
• Proven experience leading and scaling a nonprofit, policy, or development organization.
• Strong track record in fundraising and donor partnership development.
• Sound judgment on strategy, finance, and governance.
• Entrepreneurial, collaborative mindset suited to a growth‑stage environment.
• Excellent communication and public‑speaking abilities.
