Farm Operations Manager

About the role

The Farm Operations Manager will lead agricultural activities across multiple sites in Nyahururu, ensuring high‑quality production in greenhouse environments. This contractor position requires hands‑on expertise in horticulture, pest management, and fertigation to drive efficient and sustainable farm operations.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily farm operations, including planting, harvesting, and post‑harvest handling.
• Conduct scouting for pests and diseases and implement appropriate control measures.
• Design, monitor, and adjust fertigation and spraying programmes to optimise crop health.
• Ensure compliance with Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) and Integrated Pest Management (IPM) standards.
• Coordinate activities across multiple sites, travelling as needed and maintaining accurate records.
• Lead and supervise a team of more than 50 employees, providing training and performance feedback.
• Maintain greenhouse phytosanitary protocols and uphold crop husbandry best practices.

Required profile

• BSc degree or Diploma in Horticulture, Agriculture or related field.
• Minimum 7 years experience in flower, vegetable or herb greenhouse production.
• Age 32 years or older.
• Valid driving licence and ability to travel between sites.
• Proven leadership and managerial experience with large teams.
