About the role
We are seeking a skilled Fiber Optic Splicer to join our team in Westlands, Nairobi. The role involves installing, splicing, and testing fiber optic cables to support our telecommunications network.
Key responsibilities
- Perform fiber optic cable splicing, termination, and testing.
- Troubleshoot and repair fiber network faults.
- Conduct OTDR and power meter testing to verify link performance.
- Maintain accurate splicing and testing records.
- Ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
- Care for company tools, equipment, and materials.
Required profile
- Certificate or Diploma in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum two years of experience in fiber optic splicing.
- Certificate in fiber optic installer training.
Required skills
- Fiber splicing and testing.
- Operation of OTDR and power meters.
- Use of fusion splicers and other fiber testing equipment.
- Fault diagnosis and troubleshooting.
