Finance Assistant

About the role

FreshCrop Limited is seeking a Finance Assistant to support its mission of transforming the potato value chain in Kenya. You will work closely with the finance team to ensure accurate processing of financial transactions and compliance with statutory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Process receipts, payments, journals, invoices, credit notes and other financial transactions accurately and on time.
• Prepare bank, petty cash, mobile‑money, supplier, customer and inter‑company reconciliations.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation in both digital and hard‑copy formats.
• Assist with month‑end and year‑end closing activities, financial schedules, audits and statutory compliance.
• Support inventory, procurement, payroll and operational finance transactions by verifying documentation.
• Monitor outstanding receivables and payables, following up on variances and overdue balances.
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure timely submission and verification of financial information.
• Recommend improvements to financial processes, internal controls and record management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Entry‑level experience (up to 2 years) in finance or accounting.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
• Professionalism and confidentiality when handling financial data.
