Finance Manager

About the role

We are seeking a senior Finance Manager to lead financial operations for a dynamic shipping and logistics business. The role focuses on protecting profitability through rigorous cost control, asset efficiency, and cash‑flow management while ensuring full regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and optimise volatile fuel costs, port clearance fees, demurrage and fleet maintenance to safeguard margins.
• Analyse asset utilisation and route performance metrics such as revenue per kilometre and yield per trade lane, advising operations on profitable routing.
• Manage working capital, billing cycles and credit terms to maintain healthy cash flow.
• Ensure compliance with Kenyan tax laws, customs regulations and statutory obligations (NSSF, SHIF, Housing Levy).
• Design and enforce internal financial controls and SOPs to prevent fraud, leakage and billing discrepancies.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 years (72 months) of finance experience in a senior capacity.
• Proven track record in cost optimisation and asset efficiency within shipping, logistics or related sectors.
• Strong understanding of Kenyan regulatory and statutory requirements.
• Ability to develop and implement robust financial governance frameworks.
