Financial Controller

About the role

The Finance Controller will lead the finance function for a multinational trading and distribution business in Kenya, reporting to the Country Head and Group CFO. The role provides strategic financial leadership, analytical insight and ensures compliance to support business growth.

Key responsibilities

• Develop financial strategies, including risk minimisation and opportunity forecasting.
• Oversee high‑level financial reporting, analysis and management of information systems (MIS).
• Lead budget consolidation and manage cash flow and treasury operations, including banking relationships.
• Ensure robust internal controls and compliance with statutory and financial regulations.
• Drive cost efficiency and continuous process improvement across the business.
• Manage debt collection, tax submissions and finalisation of financial statements.
• Provide investment insights and support major commercial decisions.
• Partner with senior stakeholders to achieve strategic business goals.

Required profile

• Relevant finance or accounting degree or professional qualification.
• Approximately five years of finance experience.
• Experience in trading and distribution preferred; manufacturing experience also considered.
• Exposure to SAP is an advantage.
