Fire Alarm Systems Design Engineer

About the role

Siemens is seeking a Fire Alarm Systems Design Engineer to support its Smart Buildings portfolio across the Southeast United States. You will create tailored fire alarm solutions for commercial facilities, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with project specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Develop fire alarm system designs, including floorplan drawings, device locations, riser diagrams, wiring details, and panel mounting layouts.
• Prepare bills of materials, sequences of operation, and detailed engineering documentation.
• Perform peer‑to‑peer reviews of engineering deliverables.
• Recommend productivity improvements and cost‑reduction measures to enhance customer satisfaction.
• Assist in selecting optimal products and installation methods for cost‑effective solutions.
• Conduct electrical calculations such as battery sizing, voltage drop, conduit fill, and power supply sizing.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED; candidates with at least 3 years of fire system design experience are considered.
• Minimum 2 years of experience engineering fire alarm systems.
• Demonstrated knowledge of fire system engineering fundamentals or equivalent field experience with fire system controls.
