Fleet Manager – Manage Vehicle Operations

About the role

The Fleet Manager will oversee daily operations of Akuka Cabs' vehicle fleet, ensuring vehicles stay operational and drivers meet payment obligations. You will be responsible for driver recruitment, performance monitoring, and maintaining fleet profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily fleet operations, monitor vehicle utilization, performance and downtime.
• Ensure drivers make agreed payments on time and follow up on arrears.
• Recruit, onboard, assign and supervise drivers, monitoring their performance and compliance.
• Coordinate servicing, repairs, inspections and preventive maintenance with garages and mechanics.
• Maintain accurate records of fleet revenue, expenses, maintenance and activity.
• Track and ensure validity of vehicle and driver documentation.
• Handle accidents, fines, insurance claims and other vehicle‑related incidents.
• Identify cost‑reduction opportunities and prepare regular performance reports for management.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in fleet management, transport or logistics.
• Proven ability to manage drivers or field‑based teams.
• Good understanding of vehicle maintenance and basic automotive issues.
• Strong organisational, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• High level of integrity, accountability and attention to detail.
