FMCG Distributors Accountant

About the role

Our client, a leading FMCG distributor in Naivasha, is looking for a competent Accountant to manage financial operations, ensure accurate reporting, and support the fast‑paced business environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare daily, weekly, monthly and annual financial reports.
• Manage accounts receivable and payable, ensuring timely collections and supplier payments.
• Monitor cash flow, working capital and prepare budgets.
• Perform bank, supplier, customer and general ledger reconciliations.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with Kenyan statutory requirements (VAT, PAYE, NSSF, SHIF, Housing Levy, Corporation Tax).
• Support stock reconciliations and investigate inventory variances with warehouse teams.
• Maintain internal controls and assist internal and external audits.
• Prepare financial analyses and management reports for decision‑making.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or related field.
• CPA(K) finalist/qualified or ACCA equivalent.
• Minimum three years of accounting experience in an FMCG distribution environment.
• Hands‑on experience with inventory accounting and stock reconciliations.
• Strong knowledge of Kenyan tax laws and statutory compliance.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems such as Sage, QuickBooks, Microsoft Dynamics or SAP.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel for reporting and analysis.
