Food & Beverage Supervisor

About the role

We are seeking a Food & Beverage Supervisor to lead our dining operations at Fairmont The Norfolk, a historic hotel in Nairobi. Reporting to the F&B Manager, you will ensure service excellence and uphold Fairmont standards across all food and beverage areas.

Key responsibilities

• Organise and conduct daily pre‑shift meetings to communicate pertinent information.
• Schedule, direct and train staff in all food and beverage operations according to Fairmont standards.
• Maintain proper inventory levels of wines, beverages and supplies.
• Set‑up and train employees on wine and beverage service and knowledge.
• Enforce proper beverage service standards during service.
• Assist in developing cost‑saving and profit‑enhancing measures and create beverage promotions.
• Interact positively with customers, promote hotel facilities and resolve problems to satisfaction.
• Continuously monitor restaurant and kitchen areas to ensure quality and service standards.
• Handle customer complaints with thorough research and effective solutions.
• Utilise cash‑handling procedures to charge customers, create forecasts and revenue reports.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Food & Beverage Supervisor or similar leadership role.
• Strong leadership, communication and problem‑solving abilities.
• In‑depth knowledge of food safety regulations and industry best practices.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including early mornings, evenings and weekends.
• Fluency in English and understanding of local cuisine and cultural preferences.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
