Freight Forwarding Operations Supervisor – Declaration

About the role

The Freight Forwarding Operations Supervisor will lead the declaration process for customs entries, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and compliance. You will coordinate with IFFOS operators, declarants and the operations team to keep the workflow smooth and meet daily targets.

Key responsibilities

• Acknowledge receipt of full document sets, verify completeness and allocate files to declarants.
• Oversee customs entry lodgment in the iCMS system and ensure balanced work distribution.
• Monitor TFP and iCMS for rejected entries, respond promptly and escalate issues when needed.
• Support team leaders and port operators with customs queries, documentation guidance and regulatory clarification.
• Handle query escalation to managers within 24 hours and conduct physical interventions at offices or ports if required.
• Produce daily job allocation and activity reports, and ensure declarants meet the KPI of 100 lines per day.
• Perform duty and tax projections accurately to aid entry processing and bond planning.

Required profile

• Diploma in Customs & Freight or a related field.
• ICMS training; East African Freight Forwarding Practicing Certificate is a plus.
• Minimum 5 years experience in a busy logistics or freight‑forwarding environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with iCMS customs declaration system.
• Experience using SPOT and WAY platforms.
• Familiarity with the TFP system for document submission.
