FTTX Supervisor

About the role

We are looking for an experienced FTTX Supervisor to lead daily fiber‑to‑the‑home (FTTX) field installation activities in Nairobi. The role involves planning, quality control and coordination with design teams, subcontractors and local authorities to ensure timely and safe rollout of fiber networks.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily FTTX field installation, including aerial, underground and in‑building fiber cable laying, splicing and termination.
• Plan and allocate work schedules for field teams and subcontractors to meet project timelines.
• Conduct quality checks such as OTDR and light‑level testing, verify splice quality and ensure compliance with design specifications.
• Enforce EHS standards, ensure proper PPE usage and safe work practices on site.
• Coordinate with design/planning teams to resolve site discrepancies and update As‑Built documentation.
• Monitor and manage materials, tools and equipment to minimise waste.
• Liaise with local authorities, landlords and communities to secure wayleaves and resolve access issues.
• Prepare and submit daily/weekly progress reports with completion rates, challenges and site evidence.
• Troubleshoot technical issues during installation and testing, escalating complex faults as needed.
• Mentor and develop field technicians, riggers and splicers, ensuring skill growth and adherence to standards.
• Support customer connections, including drop cable installation and ONT/CPE setup.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 3–4 years of hands‑on experience in FTTX network deployment, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory role.
• Valid driving licence.
