Fundi Manager

About the role

The Fundi Manager will lead the end‑to‑end delivery of the tiler programme across multiple African markets. Based in Nairobi, you will be responsible for market promotion, technical capacity‑building and the creation of a standardized training system for local tilers.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, implement and monitor the Tiler Project in assigned countries, adapting the programme to local market characteristics.
• Develop country‑specific tiler development plans, set timelines, allocate resources and track progress.
• Design and launch a complete training system from scratch, covering basic to advanced tile‑installation techniques.
• Translate complex construction knowledge into clear, hands‑on training materials, assessments and certification processes.
• Manage project teams and training officers across regions, ensuring proper use of resources and compliance with project standards.
• Provide regular updates to headquarters on progress, risks and results, and drive timely problem resolution.

Required profile

• Proven experience in building construction and tile installation, with a strong understanding of substrate preparation, tools, grouting and common defects.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, learn quickly and make technical judgments without relying on external suppliers.
• Excellent communication skills to convey technical concepts to diverse audiences.
• Willingness to travel frequently across project countries.
