General Manager – Hospital

About the role

The General Manager will lead the overall operations, administration and strategic direction of a hospital in Nyeri. Reporting to the CEO, the role ensures high‑quality patient care, financial sustainability and compliance with regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement hospital strategy aligned with board directives.
• Oversee clinical and non‑clinical departments to ensure operational efficiency and optimal resource use.
• Manage budgeting, financial planning, cost control and revenue optimisation.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare laws, accreditation standards and internal policies.
• Promote patient‑centred care, monitor satisfaction and drive service‑quality improvements.
• Lead workforce planning, recruitment, training, performance management and staff retention.
• Maintain strong relationships with regulators, community stakeholders and partners.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience (minimum 8 years) in healthcare management.
• Proven leadership and governance capabilities.
• Strong financial acumen and experience with budgeting and reporting.
• Deep understanding of healthcare regulations and accreditation processes.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
