General Manager

About the role

We are seeking a dynamic General Manager to lead our shipping and logistics operations in Kiambu. The role combines strategic business development, sales leadership, and operational oversight to drive growth and profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement business strategies that increase revenue, market share and overall performance.
• Monitor financial and commercial metrics such as sales, margins, cash flow and operational expenses.
• Identify new market opportunities, partnerships and initiatives to strengthen competitive position.
• Lead the sales function, achieve revenue targets and nurture relationships with customers, distributors and suppliers.
• Oversee daily logistics, distribution, stock movement and order fulfilment, ensuring efficient service delivery.
• Establish and maintain stock‑control systems, monitor inventory levels and minimise losses.
• Drive process improvements to enhance productivity, cost control and turnaround times.
• Lead, coach and evaluate cross‑functional teams, setting clear performance targets.
• Prepare regular management reports on sales, operations, finance and key performance indicators.
• Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory and internal policies.

Required profile

• University degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain or a related field.
• Minimum five years of experience in senior management roles within transport, logistics or shipping services.
• Proven track record of achieving sales and profitability targets.
• Strong analytical and financial acumen.
• Excellent leadership and people‑management capabilities.
