About the role
IMPACT Initiatives is seeking a senior professional to lead the climate and loss‑and‑damage research portfolio for the REACH initiative across the Horn of Africa. Based in Nairobi, the role will coordinate assessments, satellite‑based analyses and data‑management activities to support humanitarian decision‑making.
Key responsibilities
- Design and oversee climate‑related need and situation assessments in East Africa.
- Lead satellite‑imagery analysis to monitor climate impacts and inform response strategies.
- Develop and maintain databases, web‑mapping tools and other information products for partners.
- Collaborate with REACH teams, Acted and UNOSAT to ensure methodological consistency.
- Provide technical guidance and capacity‑building to field staff and external stakeholders.
Required profile
- Proven experience in climate research, humanitarian assessments or related fields.
- Strong understanding of the climate vulnerabilities in East Africa.
- Ability to work in a multicultural, multi‑partner environment.
- Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.
